The Free Word Centre has re-opened after a period of renovations.

The Farringdon Road hub for literature, literacy and free speech now has a revamped cafe, improved access and a glitzy new foyer space. The centre has put together a packed programme of autumn events to celebrate its re-opening. Coming up in December are debates on climate change, an e-publishing workshop and the 26 Words exhibition, where artists were each given a letter of the alphabet, and explored the creative possibilities of a word starting with that letter, chosen at random by sticking a knife in a dictionary.
