As well as the exhibitions, it's the stunning installations that create a stir at CDW.

This year is no exception with architects Russ & Henshaw's collaboration with Turkishceramics on Tile Mile (pictured) at St John's Gate: the two inner arches will feature parallel mirrors to create the illusion of an infinite space with colourful tiles stretching into the distance. Architecture practice Studio Weave has created Smith, a pavilion that pays homage to the Clerkenwell craftsman through history.

It will feature contemporary craftsmen and smiths hosting demonstrations and workshops. And design collective Okay Studio, supported by the American Hardwood Export Council, will mark CDW's fifth edition with Five, an exhibition inspired by five hardwood species.
