Clerkenwell Design Week is back on 19-21 May, with a new headline sponsor - Renault – for the sixth edition of the UK’s leading independent design festival. CDW brings the design community to EC1 for exhibitions, showroom events, product launches, panel discussions and street art.

Last year’s event attracted 32,300 visitors and more than 300 exhibiting brands. The transformation of London’s public spaces will be a major theme of the festival, including the CDW Presents installations (see p23) and Conversations at Clerkenwell (see below). Twentieth Century revivalism is a leading trend: new product launches from Vitra, Carl Hansen & Søn and Cassina all draw on each company’s heritage. The four main exhibitions of UK and international brands – Design Factory, Detail, Additions and Platform – in historic venues will return to CDW. Entry is free – register online:
