Ordnance Survey is known for its highly accurate if slightly unwieldy maps, but it’s also leading digital innovation from a new base in EC1.

The 224-year-old government agency launched its Geospatial Innovation Hub in Sekforde Street in July. Geospatial is all about data related to location: think searching for restaurants in Clerkenwell on Google Maps. OS is at the heart of a growing tech sector that devises mapping solutions for business, government and emergency services. The Geovation Hub enables developers to work together and draw on location-data (from population to crime figures) and expertise from OS technical staff. You can sign up for a business membership or free drop-in sessions and events.
