It’s not long until our neighbourhood welcomes its annual design celebration, Clerkenwell Design Week, on 24-26 May.

It’s a big draw, for locals and design gurus alike, and every year it fills the area with a creative buzz. This year, its seventh, is sponsored by Renault and takes on a new, bigger guise – the main exhibition space is moving from the Farmiloe Building to a bespoke, two-storey specially constructed structure on Spa Fields.

There will also be other new pavilions and venues to explore, making eight in total – as well as the usual street installations, foodie stalls and showroom activities. Local architecture company OMMX has created a masterplan of the event, streamlining its flow.
