Our round-up of the latest developments from the creative community.

DOUBLE VISION
Launched just in time for the crowds at Clerkenwell Design Week, Cult Vision recently unveiled its range of eyewear in Goswell Road. The spectacles are curated with EC1’s design-conscious community in mind: expect to find frames from independent brands whose craftsmanship is all about reinventing classic styles. As well as a professional optometry service, the Cult Vision team have launched a new gallery and showroom space in Marylebone. Presenting projects by creatives and designer- makers, 67 York Street is a partnership with Louisa Pacifico, a familiar face at both Clerkenwell Design Week and Craft Central. Turn to p21 for her fond farewell to Craft Central as it departs EC1.

CDW 2018: DATES UNVEILED
The ninth edition of Clerkenwell Design Week will take place on 22-24 May, 2018. The dates were announced following the successful 2017 edition of the festival, which drew more than 34,000 design professionals from 73 countries (see our highlights on p12). Sponsored by Renault, this year’s CDW featured more than 200 brands exhibiting across seven venues and 92 showrooms. As well as staging 300 live events over three days, this year’s festival refined the experience with the Clerkenwell Exhibition Trail, designed by Space Agency. The trail guided visitors between the immersive installations, including The Bolt: A Celebration of Craft (pictured), a structure created by Giles Miller and Shinola in St John’s Square.
